Sky have disclosed that the new Sky HD EPG which was due for launch in November 2008 has now been delayed back to 2009, most likely March.
Reasons are unclear at this time, but a few remaining issues and lack of certain features have meant Sky are going to delay to avoid launching anywhere near Christmas, the most important time of the year for Sky uptake and viewing figures.
We’ll let you know when Sky release more information on the specific reasons for the delay.

Yes, it appears likely around March/April time now. We are trying to find out specific reasons for the delay, but Sky are keeping quiet at this time, maybe concentrating their efforts on a reliable box without lip-sync issues at the moment.

…and I thought it might just be me that had to keep changing the optical audio delay….
I’d much rather wait and have a reliable box. Thanks for the info.

Disappointed but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.

According to some of the popular forums, all Sky employees are now receiving the new EPG (not just the beta testers), and apparently Customer Services have told a few callers that it will begin to be rolled out from next week to HD customers.
